Classes at the Workshop

IN OUR CLASS THIS WEEK:-

This week we’ve been working on the stand (mannequin) . We call it draping.          When you work on a full scale mannequin it can be difficult to handle all that material, so sometimes we work on a 1/2 scale stand, perfect the design and then transfer it to the full scale mannequin.

Have a look at what we got up to….

We also did some work on shirring and ruching…..

                                               RECYCLING...

Are you fed up with the clothes on offer in the shops? Do you have the ideas for your own designs but lack the skills to be able to make them? Well let us bring out your creative side. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done any sewing before, or if you are happy and confident behind your SEWING MACHINE. Come along to our Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday classes and our small, informal and friendly group will have you creating and having fun along the way no matter what your starting level.

“RECYCLING“, GENERAL SEWING & PATTERN CUTTING are all topics we cover and you can choose which ones you want to explore or learn more about.  You’ll be amazed at your newly found sewing and design skills!  You’ll be able to recycle, or ‘re-cut’ pre-loved garments from your wardrobe or charity shop and make totally unique and stylish pieces out of virtually nothing! The skills you’ll acquire also mean you’ll also be proficient enough to create those perfectly fitted patterns or tackle those wonderful designs that up to now you’ve only dreamed of.

Fashion & Design Classes:-

Do you dream of starting your own fashion line or working as a designer?

I offer 1:1 classes from 15 per hour. Here you can develop your own blocks, work on your own business idea or project or  learn about the History of Fashion and the Fundamentals of design. (What constitutes ‘good ‘ design and what you need to consider when designing)  If you wish, we can even cover illustration, designing a range and mood boards so you can create your collection and then move to pattern cutting for it…..

All options or modules needed for realising your dream are available, it just needs you and I to sit down and discuss what your aims are and how often you would like to study.

1:1 classes can be varied to suit your own circumstances and preferences.
